Russian side after forgotten Blues forward
Chelsea, 09:11, July 20, 2009 ,
Zenit St Petersburg are ready to table a bid for Andriy Shevchenko as the Ukraine international gets set to leave Chelsea.
The Russian club are reportedly set to offer the 32-year-old hitman a two-year contract worth approximately €3.5million per season but face competition from Italy where Roma are thought to be keen on signing Shevchenko.
Carlo Ancelotti is yet to decide where Shevchenko's future lies after taking him back to AC Milan on loan last season, but it is thought the former Dynamo Kiev player will try and pursue a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Shevchenko is in the last year of his current contract at Chelsea and this will be the final season the Blues could recoup some of the £30million they spent on him in 2006 before he walks away on a free transfer next summer.
