Shev - "I've won the Champions League"
Latest news update:
Andriy Shevchenko says moving back to AC Milan is like "winning the Champions League".
The 31-year-old has endured a torrid couple of seasons with Chelsea where he became a peripheral figure at the club under Jose Mourinho and Avram Grant.
He failed to nail down a regular starting berth at Stamford Bridge and was also forced to go under the surgeon's knife at the end of last season to cure a hernia problem.
Punters looking to use a £25 free bet might look at Milan to win the Serie A title this season, after the Italian giants finished fifth in the standings in a below-par campaign last season.
The return of Shevchenko will certainly give his side a boost and the player could not contain his happiness after all parties agreed to the switch back to the San Siro.
"I'm so very happy to be here," he told the club's official website. "At this special moment, I want to send a message to the Chelsea fans who have always made me feel their support. A heartfelt thank you for that.
"For me, it's like winning the Champions League. There were complications but now everything is resolved I'm really happy."
The Ukraine international hit-man will hope to rediscover his goalscoring touch and challenge for the honour of being top goaslscorer in Serie A but will have new team-mate Ronaldinho to contend with, after the Brazilian's switch from Barcelona.
