Chelsea have been alerted by the news Valencia striker David Villa is targeting a move to the Premiership in the future.
The Blues have long been linked with a move for the Spain international and they may eventually get a chance to sign him as Valencia have huge debts and could be forced to cash in during the new year.
The 27-year-old would cost in the region of £40million but that would not be a problem for Carlo Ancelotti who has got the full backing of Roman Abramovich.
It was thought Villa wanted to stay in Spain with Real Madrid the preferred destination but now the striker has revealed he could head to the Premiership if the right offer comes in.
"I have not closed the door on any club because I only have a short career and I want to enjoy my football," Villa told the Daily Star. "I have had a lot of offers, but I would have to pick the best option, and that could be in the Premier League, which I have never ruled out."
