Winger could head home

Spartak Moscow have expressed an interest in Chelsea wideman Yuri Zhirkov and could make a move for the player in January.

The 27-year-old has struggled to establish himslf in the Blues first-team since his arrival from CSKA Moscow, due to a string of injuries and the form of Ashley Cole and Florent Malouda.
Zhirkov made just 19 starts in all competitions for Chelsea last season and his place in the Russia squad is now under threat, with coach Dick Advocaat saying he will only pick players who are playing regularly for their clubs.
The left-sided star could be given the chance to return to his homeland though, when the transfer window reopens in the new year, with Spartak boss Valeri Karpin eyeing his signature.
Karpin has been quoted as saying: "I was interested (in Zhirkov), I am now and I will be in the winter."

I hope Ancellotti does'nt make the mistake of letting yuri go. I mean he was a good, not a better substitute for ashley last season when he had injury...
