Cheltenham Town news
Having been founded in 1887, Cheltenham were promoted to the Football League for the first time in 1999.
The Robins won the FA Trophy in 1998 under then boss Steve Cotterill, who also led them into the league. John Ward was manager of the club when they won the League Two play-off final against Grimsby in 2006.
Whaddon Road has been the club’s home since 1932 and has a total capacity of 7,300.
Allen seals first deal
New Cheltenham boss Martin Allen has signed Bristol City midfielder Scott Murray on loan for a month with a view to a longer deal.
