Cheltenham manager Mark Yates is battling hard to retain the services of Luke Summerfield.

The midfielder joined the Robins last August on a one-year deal and is now attracting interest from League One new boys Shrewsbury. Summerfield has been offered new terms by Cheltenham, who missed out on promotion when they lost to Crewe in the play-off final. The 24-year-old is still undecided on his future but Yates claims money is not the deciding factor and remains hopeful of securing his signature. "He wants to play at the highest level he can and I understand that," Yates told BBC Gloucestershire. "At the moment Luke is exercising his rights to see what's out there. "If we would have gone up I think it would have been sorted by now. But we haven't and he's got a decision to make. It's not about money, it's a footballing decision."
