Yates quashes Bennett rumours

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates confirmed skipper Alan Bennett will still be a Robins player next season despite mounting speculation over his future.

Bennett joined Cheltenham last year on a one-year deal following his release from Wycombe, with the club having the option of another year, which they have taken up. "He was a really good player for us last season and a really good captain for myself to deal with and Alan will be here next year," Yates told the Gloucestershire Echo. "There is nothing to say on it bar the fact that Alan has kicked in the second year of his contract. He is contracted to the club and nothing will happen with him."
