El for Ward
Colchester boss John Ward called his side's last-gasp 1-0 defeat at Brentford "a kick in the teeth".
Farid El Alagui broke the deadlock with two minutes remaining when he headed home Harry Forrester's pinpoint cross. But Ward hailed Colchester's performance as a big improvement on the previous week's 4-0 hammering at Tranmere. He said: "That was a very disappointing end to a game where we were always in contention. It feels like a kick in the teeth, but I was pleased with my side. "The front men deserved more for the way they worked. We didn't have as much possession as Brentford but we could easily have gone in ahead at half time. "It was a big improvement on our last display and I honestly think we deserved something from the game. I will certainly have no problems getting the confidence back up after a performance like that."
