Ward pondering changes

John Ward will be pondering changes for Colchester's trip to Brentford.

The U's boss watched his side put in a positive first-half performance against Tranmere last weekend before being blown away after the break to go down 4-0 at Prenton Park. Ward and his squad have had this week to mull over the heavy defeat and changes are inevitable at Griffin Park. Ian Henderson, Gavin Massey, John-Joe O'Toole and Kem Izzet are among those in contention to start, while youngster Freddie Ladapo could earn a place in the matchday 18 having bagged for the club's reserves for the third successive match in midweek. Colchester remain without a win in any competition from their five games so far this season.
