Michael Mifsud could earn a move from Coventry with a good performance for Malta on Wednesday, according to manager Chris Coleman.
The 27-year-old has failed to generate much interest since asking to leave the Ricoh Arena but could put himself in the shop window when his country take on Iceland in an international friendly.
The former Bristol City target missed Saturday's match against Plymouth but is likely to come up against team-mate Aron Gunnarsson when the two nations meet.
"Michael suffered a badly bruised foot in training last Thursday and the game on Saturday was too early for him, but the extra few days has helped him and he should be OK for Wednesday," Coleman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
"And in Michael's case as well, he has stressed that he wants to leave the club so we think if he is playing for his country it is good exposure for him, and gives us a better chance of doing something in the window."
