Landzaat lands on Coleman's lap

Coventry City, 15:57, January 14, 2009

Former Ajax, Borussia Moenchengladbach and CSKA Sofia defender Quido Landzaat has been taken on trial at the Ricoh Arena.

The 29-year-old defender is currently out of contract, and is being put through his paces by Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman.
But even if he is signed, Landzaat is unlikely to make the squad for Coventry at the weekend against Blackpool because he has not played since November.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, City boss Chris Coleman said: "He has not played since November so we have to have a look at him but his quality is there, no doubt about that."
The versatile defender, who can play at centre back or full back, was set to join Coleman's side in the summer but the deal broke down with Sofia.
"Technically, he is very good, excellent in one v one situations but we just have to see what he's like physically because he needs games," said the manager.
