Sky Blues slip to County defeat

Coventry suffered their first defeat of pre-season against SPL newcomers Ross County.

Sporting their new Brazil-style yellow, green and blue away kit for the first time, City were given a stern work-out by the Staggies who grabbed the only goal of a competitive game two minutes from time. Manager Andy Thorn said: "Obviously the boys are disappointed to have conceded late like that but that's what I want, I want them to be disappointed. "But even so, I thought we put on a really good display against a side that are a good couple of weeks ahead of us in their own preparations. "Ross County are a good side carrying a bit of momentum after getting promoted to the Scottish Premier League and I thought we matched them really well and we played some really good football. "At this stage for us it's all about the minutes and we had boys on the pitch who had already put in 90 against Brora the night before so I was pleased with everyone's work rate and what I saw."
