Ajay Leitch-Smith is set to become the latest homegrown Crewe player to sign a new deal at the club.
Leitch-Smith will join Adam Dugdale and Harry Davis in committing his immediate future to the Railwaymen.
Alex boss Steve Davis told the Sentinel: "Ajay is going to sign and it is all in hand and just needs finalising."
The 22-year-old striker's efforts to become a first-team regular have been hampered by injuries in the past. He made only five starts in three years prior to being handed a one-year contract last summer.
Leitch-Smith's predatory nature in front of goal has always impressed former Crewe manager Dario Gradi and current boss Davis.
This season he has scored seven goals in 37 appearances.
