Phillips stay delights Davis
Crewe manager Steve Davis has expressed his delight at Steve Phillips' decision to sign a new contract.
The veteran goalkeeper agreed a new two-year deal at Gresty Road including a move into the club's academy to coach next season. "Steve has signed and obviously everyone is pleased with that. He has signed a new two-year deal and that will involve a coaching role within the Academy as well," Davis told the club's official website. "I spoke to Steve before we both went on holiday and almost everything had been agreed in principle. It was just a question of some finer details and him signing the contract. "Like all contracts nothing is done until it is all signed on paper, so we are delighted he has agreed to stay on with us. "He wants to develop his coaching and he is excited by the prospect of being able to coach the goalkeepers here and help bring the younger ones through."
