Westwood a doubt for Alex

Crewe are sweating on the fitness of Ashley Westwood ahead of their crunch clash with Aldershot.

Westwood suffered severe bruising to his foot during last weekend's 1-1 draw at Torquay and is currently rated as 50/50. If Westwood fails to recover, Lee Bell is ready to step in having impressed when he replaced his team-mate at Plainmoor. Captain David Artell is hoping to recover from a hamstring injury, but fellow defender Carl Martin is ruled out with a similar complaint. Dan Shelley is back in training following a calf problem and provides an extra option for boss Steve Davis in midfield. A point against the Shots will be enough for Alex to secure their place in the npower League Two play-off places.
