The forthcoming one-day series with Australia may not happen due to the possibility of a player strike Down Under.

England are due to face Australia in the first match of the one-day international series at Lords on June 29th, but there is a chance that it will be cancelled unless a solution is found to appease some of the visitor's star players. As it stands at present, quite a few have yet to sign new contracts, with bosses at Cricket Australia adopting a hard-line stance over pay reviews. They have frozen talks over contracts, leaving some players in limbo regarding which team they will actually be turning out for when the new season gets under way Down Under. There are reports of a boycott by the international side, that would result in all five one-day internationals being scrapped. However, there is a chance that the Australians will turn up to honour the fixtures but then boycott the Twenty20 World Championships later this summer instead.
