Broad handed Vaughan warning
Cricket, 11:48, December 20, 2009 ,
Paceman Stuart Broad has been warned by former England captain Michael Vaughan to concentrate on his cricket and stop moaning.
Vaughan has spoken out about Broad after witnessing his remonstrations with the umpires and subsequent complaint to the match referee about the time it took to decide he was out lbw on day three of the first Test against South Africa at Centurion Park.
Broad's gripe came after South Africa waited more than 30 seconds before using the referral system to have him dismissed when video official Amiesh Saheba overturned umpire Aleem Dar's initial not out decision.
Vaughan told BBC Radio 5 live: "He has got to let his bowling and batting do the talking and stop the whinging."
He added: "The big thing about the referral system is that it's there to try to get as many decisions as correct as possible.
"Stuart Broad was out and the right decision was made in the end."
Vaughan also feels Broad, who made his Test debut in 2007 when Vaughan was still captain, needs to accept decisions made against him.
He said: "He had a little bit of a whinge at the umpire and I do think he's got to stop that kind of approach because, from sat up here watching, he's becoming quite annoying."
