Kings XI Punjab are out of the IPL after losing their final match to league-leading Delhi Daredevils by six wickets in Dharamsala.
Kings XI needed to win the match to have any chance of progressing to the semi-finals of the sub-continental extravaganza but came unstuck against the top team in the event.
Delhi dominated the match from start to finish, restricting the hosts to 141-8 from their 20 overs, as Siddharth Chitnis top-scored with 38.
Daredevils' bowlers were on top form with Morne Morkel (4-20) and Umesh Yadav (3-19) proving far too hot to handle for Adam Gilchrist's men.
Australian star David Warner then smashed 79 from 44 balls as the already-qualified Daredevils eased to victory with almost two overs to spare.
West Indian Andre Russell was the main culprit with the ball for Kings XI, as his four overs cost 51 runs and Warner proved what a dangerous player he can be in the shortest version of the game with four sixes and 10 fours in his 44-ball knock.
Delhi have finished the group stage top of the table and are favourites to win the whole competition.
