Windies mauled in Lions defeat
England Lions secured a 10-wicket victory against West Indies in the tourists' final warm-up before the first Test at Lord's.
The Lions secured a 108-run first innings lead at Derby as Tim Ambrose hit 117 in a total of 311, before Adil Rashid took 3-66 and Liam Plunkett (4-29) helped dismiss the Windies for just 178.
Rob Key hit 33 and Stephen Moore fired 30 as the Lions knocked off the 72 runs required for victory in just 9.5 overs as the West Indies will no doubt be concerned at failing to reach 200 runs for the third successive innings.
"Tim Ambrose and Adil Rashid were the difference in the end, giving us a 100-run lead and then it looked like it was getting flatter again but having someone like Rashid up your sleeve is good to have," said Key.
"He genuinely got Chanderpaul out with his wrong one and that's what those blokes can do. Mystery spinners can get you wickets when no one else can on flat wickets."
