Bolton dismiss Palace bid
Bolton manager Dougie Freedman has rubbished reports that Crystal Palace are in line to hijack his move for defender Alex Baptiste.
Baptiste has turned down a new contract with his current club Blackpool and will become a free agent once his current deal runs out at the end of June.
Ian Holloway a former boss of Baptiste during their time at Blackpool is reported to have entered the race for his signature as he looks to strengthen his Palace side for the Premier League next term.
However former Palace boss Freedman insists that the deal is 100% certain to go through and the former Mansfield Town man will be playing his football at the Reebok Stadium next term.
"Once everything is sorted, I am signing him as a right-back, 100 per cent," Freedman revealed. "He can play in other positions but I feel that is the position where he would be of best value to the team.
"Alex will come here because he wants to be here, nothing else. He had very good offers from clubs elsewhere."
