Palace midfielder John Oster is delighted he has proved to boss Neil Warnock he is worth an extension to his contract at Selhurst Park.
The former Everton and Reading midfielder is expected to put pen to paper in the next few days on a deal to remain with the Eagles until the end of the season at least.
He initially joined Palace on a six-month contract and was told by boss Neil Warnock he would have to impress in order to get an extension.
He's done exactly that and is delighted Warnock wants him to stay and help the Eagles in the second half of the campaign.
He said in the Advertiser: "It's not great when you've only got a six month deal - but I knew that when I came.
"I could have signed a two year deal somewhere else but I came here wanting to prove myself and prove to people that I'm worth a longer deal and I've done that.
"It's always good when a manager tells you that he wants you to stay longer at a club."
Oster admits his spell at Selhurst Park has been somewhat of a rollercoaster ride so far and he's had to adapt to playing in a different formation and in unfamiliar positions at times.
He added: It's not always easy coming to a new club, getting used to a new way of playing and a different system - it's been a bit of a change coming here and playing 4-3-3.
"I've been in and out of the side, played out on the right and out on the left - but now I'm playing more centrally and I've really enjoyed it."
