Czech defender saddened by poor display

Czech Republic defender Tomas Sivok has admitted that his side deserved to lose their Euro 2012 match against Portugal.

After battling through to the quarter-finals, Michal Bilek's men looked poor as they went down to an inspired Portuguese side. The Czechs barely attacked during the match and defender Sivok says their opponents fully deserved the win. "I'm afraid we have to admit that Portugal were much better," he said. "Portugal handled the pressure on Thursday, they were the better team and deserved to progress."
