Nigel Clough says Derby's opening day fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park "has all the ingredients of a cracker".
The Rams face Dave Jones' newly-promoted Wednesday on August 18 and follow that up with trips to relegated sides Bolton (August 21) and Wolves (August 25).
"It's a tough fixture to kick off with as Wednesday will have a feel-good factor surrounding them after promotion last season," Clough told the club's official website. "But it's great to be at home on the opening day.
"But, that said, it's a brilliant first game to have and I would expect Sheffield Wednesday will take up their full allocation of tickets, given it's their first game back in the Championship and it's a fairly local game as well.
"It has all the ingredients of a cracking first game straight away and I think it goes without saying we will have fantastic and electric atmosphere inside Pride Park Stadium on Saturday, August 18."
