Clough wants the right characters

Derby manager Nigel Clough says his transfer targets need the right attitude if they are to be a success at the club.

The Rams are still looking to add to their squad ahead of the forthcoming Championship season, and Clough says new recruits need the right make-up as well as footballing ability to fit in at Pride Park. "We are great believers in the fact that players for Derby County must not only have the ability to play on the pitch, but also to have the right certain characteristics," he told the club's official website. "We do feel as though that helps, especially when they are playing in front of 25,000 supporters every week at Pride Park. "So as much as we look at good players, we do place great emphasis on the character side of it as well and I think we have seen that in abundance in the last year."
