No Rams loan exit for Barnes - boss
Derby County, 11:07, June 19, 2009 ,
Nigel Clough has reportedly snubbed Hull's attempts to sign Giles Barnes on loan from Derby and told any interested party to pay £2m.
The 20-year-old forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham, but barely featured for their first-team due to a lack of fitness. Despite that Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson has been weighing up a possible second swoop to extend Barnes' stay at Craven Cottage next season.
In the meantime Tigers boss Phil Brown, who gave Barnes his debut as a 17-year-old during his time in charge at Derby in the 2005-06 season, has now been linked with a loan bid for the player in the hope he would relish an opportunity to be reunited with him at the KC Stadium.
However it appears that Clough is unwilling to let Barnes leave on loan as he would like up to £2million so he can fund his own rebuilding plans at Pride Park during the close-season.
