Ram Hendrick to see specialist
Derby's Jeff Hendrick is due to see a specialist to assess the wrist injury he suffered during the pre-season defeat at Chesterfield.
Hendrick, 20, landed awkwardly on his right wrist in the first half of the Rams' final warm-up game of the summer and was carried off on a stretcher as a precautionary measure and taken to hospital.
X-Ray results revealed the midfielder did not suffer a fracture, but a specialist will run the rule over his wrist to assess what, if any, damage was sustained on impact.
As a result, Hendrick has been forced to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their Euro 2013 Championship qualifier against Turkey and will miss Tuesday night's Capital One Cup tie with Scunthorpe.
Derby hope he will be available for the side's npower Championship opener against Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park at the weekend.
