Utd record beckons Rams

Derby County, 14:19, January 13, 2009 ,

Derby are on course to set a record for the biggest away attendance ever at Old Trafford in next week's Carling Cup tie.

The second leg of the semi-final sees the Rams take a 1-0 lead to Manchester United and they look set to be backed by the biggest away support Old Trafford has ever seen.
The away allocation is 12,000 which would be a record and chief executive and president Tom Glick has described the current demand for tickets as breathtaking.
"The fanaticism and dedication of Derby County supporters is already renowned in the game," he told the Derby Telegraph.
"However, the potential travelling black and white army for Old Trafford later this month is breathtaking, even by our standards.
"The way sales are going at the moment, it is well within our grasp to achieve that piece of history.
"Also, we want to encourage all travelling fans to take with them the free scarf which was given to them at the home leg.
"A sea of black and white will be a sight to behold."
