Ward out for Rams

Jamie Ward will miss Derby's first competitive fixture of the 2012/13 season against Scunthorpe in the Capital One Cup.

Ward is included in the Northern Ireland squad for their international friendly against Finland in Belfast on Wednesday night, 24 hours after the Rams' first-round tie at Pride Park.
But the diminutive forward will be available when Nigel Clough's side kick off their npower Championship campaign at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Jeff Hendrick would have missed Scunthorpe's visit after being named in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their European championship qualifier against Turkey.
But the midfielder is now a concern ahead of the Owls game after sustaining a wrist injury during Derby's final pre-season friendly against Chesterfield.
Teenager Michael Hoganson (ankle) is also nursing a knock following the 3-1 defeat at the B2net Stadium but fellow left-backs Gareth Roberts (hamstring) and James O'Connor (thigh), who have missed the last two friendlies, are both expected to be fit.
