Winger's fan pledge
Derby County, 14:33, January 29, 2009 ,
Under-fire Derby winger Gary Teale has vowed to prove the doubters wrong after coming in for some stick from the fans.
The Scottish international has started seven of the last 10 matches but his selection is often criticised by a section of fans and he has been the subject of some ironic cheering on being substituted in the past.
He has vowed to win over his doubters though and told the Telegraph: "Getting criticised is part and parcel of football.
"Obviously, it's not nice when it's coming from your own fans but I'm not going to shy away from it.
"At the end of the day, I will just get on with it, as long as the manager wants me to play.
"I will just keep my head down and continue to give 100%.
"It isn't nice when you hear the things that are being said but whether it's just or not just, everybody is entitled to their opinion.
"I'm not going to have a go back at anyone. If they want to do that, it's up to them.
"I'm just happy to be playing and I will keep working hard and wanting to do well for myself and the club."
