Chairman - No offers for defender

Doncaster Rovers, 19:07, June 25, 2009 ,

Doncaster chairman John Ryan has rubbished reports Nottingham Forest have made a £2.5million bid for key defender Matt Mills.

Mills has been linked with a move away from Rovers over the summer with Forest monitoring his situation. They are said to be preparing a bid for the former Manchester City player, but Ryan insists no offer has been received and described the speculation as "complete nonsense".
He said: "The one about Matt Mills is complete nonsense because there has been no contact at all with Nottingham Forest.
"If a bid had been made for any of our players I would expect to be informed.
"But the manager knows nothing about it and neither do I."
Ryan added: "Besides, if any of our players were to leave, I would expect them to go to Premier League clubs - and not teams in the same division."
