Defender in Rovers return

Doncaster Rovers, 17:02, February 1, 2010 ,

Doncaster have signed defender Shelton Martis from West Brom on a three-year deal and snubbed Preston's bid for Martin Woods.

Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has paid an undisclosed fee for 27-year-old centre-half Martis, who spent a month on loan at the Keepmoat back in 2008, after he has struggled to secure regular first-team action in Roberto Di Matteo's first-team at the Hawthorns.
Martis made a total of 25 appearances for the Baggies and scored two goals, both this season before he slipped down the pecking order.
Meanwhile Rovers have snubbed an undisclosed bid from Championship rivals Preston for 24-year-old midfielder Woods, who is currently sidelined with a groin injury
A brief Doncaster statement read: "Rovers have rejected a bid for midfielder Martin Woods from fellow Championship side Preston North End."
