Rovers ready for midfielder move

Doncaster Rovers, 18:51, June 22, 2009 ,

Doncaster Rovers have got plans in place to bolster the midfield if Richie Wellens quits the club this summer.

The 29-year-old ex-Man Utd and Blackpool ace has been linked with a move away, although Rovers are yet to receive an official approach for him.
Director of football Mickey Walker hopes that things stay that way, but revealed the much-publicised bid for Leeds' Neil Kilkenny would cover for the loss of Wellens.
"There's one bid especially that's in there and Sean's (O'Driscoll) done that with the chairman and we've shown an interest in the boy Kilkenny at Leeds, a good footballer," Walker told the club's official website.
