Ryan on Forest's bid for Mills
Doncaster Rovers, 13:38, June 12, 2009 ,
Doncaster chairman John Ryan is braced for another bid from Nottingham Forest for defender Matthew Mills.
The one-time Birmingham target is wanted by Forest boss Billy Davies but Ryan has dismissed claims he has rejected a second offer believed to be £2m for the former Man City youngster.
Ryan told the Star: "They have contacted us again but we've not had an official offer - it has been a Chinese whispers kind of thing.
"If they do make an official offer then we'll have a look at it. We'd obviously talk to the manager and to the player to see what's what. There is no doubt that Forest are interested in Matty and we'll have to see what happens; it's early days yet."
Meanwhile, Ryan is targeting promotion as a way to keep Rovers' best players on board.
He added: "I am sure that if Matty keeps on playing well that he will get his big move unless we get promotion to the Premier League next season.
"If Burnley, who are similar club to ourselves in a lot of ways, can do it, so can we."
