Sharp back to provide a cutting edge
Doncaster Rovers, 14:44, March 23, 2010 ,
James Hayter is likely to make way for Billy Sharp as Doncaster play host to Newcastle after being ruled out against Sheffield United.
Rovers' leading goalscorer was not included in Saturday's 1-1 draw as part of a gentleman's agreement following the striker's season-long loan switch to the Keepmoat Stadium from the Blades.
Hayter was on target in the game but that is unlikely to save him from the axe with the 15-goal man now back in contention, particularly given the number of chances Rovers squandered before United grabbed an equaliser.
Meanwhile, Sean O'Driscoll is also sweating on the fitness of Gareth Roberts which will force a defensive reshuffle. If he fails to recover from a hamstring problem, Sam Hird would return to central defence with James Chambers switching to left-back and James O'Connor swapping flanks to the right-back slot.
Rovers could go to within three of the play-offs with a victory tonight as they look to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games.
