Terrors hitman reveals Euro target

Dundee United, 10:06, June 23, 2009 ,

Danny Cadamarteri is looking forward to helping Dundee United secure a Europa League place next season.

The 29-year-old much-travelled striker, who joined the Terrors from Huddersfield Town, feels Craig Levein's side have the potential to break into the SPL's top-four, having just missed out to Aberdeen last term. And Cadamarteri is aiming to help United achieve that aim as quickly as possible.
He said: "They just missed out, finishing fifth, on the same points as Aberdeen, who made the Europa, but with a poorer goal difference.
"Hopefully we can get into Europe for my second season, because I'd love to play on that stage."
On the prospect of playing in Scotland, he added: "I was sorry to leave Town, but this is an exciting new challenge, and I can't wait to meet the rest of the lads and get going.
"A lot of people decry Scottish football, but I don't think that many of them have seen it.
"It's fast and competitive, which I reckon will suit my game, and you look at the kind of crowds Celtic and Rangers can draw, and you can't help but be excited at the prospect of playing there."
