Utd over Levein loss
Dundee United, 13:52, January 14, 2010 ,
Peter Houston believes Wednesday night's away win at Hamilton is proof Dundee United are finally recovering from losing Craig Levein.
The 1-0 victory was the Terrors first league win since Levein left to take the Scotland job and Houston took over as caretaker. The Tannadice side suffered a heavy 7-1 loss to Rangers in the wake of Levein's departure and then narrowly lossed away to Aberdeen.
However, the signs were good after Saturday's Scottish Cup win against Partick and David Goodwillie's 75 minute goal earned them a vital win at New Douglas Park.
Houston admitted that the team had had a conversation amongst themselves, where a few home truths were expressed and he believes this has brought the squad together and helped the side grind out their last couple of results.
The caretaker told the club's website: "We came through a really hard cup tie at Partick Thistle against a good team and we have come to Hamilton against an experienced Accies team and created a lot of chances."
Houston added: "It's one game at a time at this football club just now. Hibs (the weekend opponents) present different problems. They are a very attack-minded side, they've got good players and are like a front-four at times."
