Carroll to start against Sweden

Andy Carroll is expected to be in the England starting XI against Sweden at the expense of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Reports suggest the £35million frontman will make his first competitive international start this evening and partner Danny Welbeck up front in an attempt by Roy Hodgson to capitalise on Sweden's defensive frailties. Seven of the last 11 goals against the Swedes have come from headers and Hodgson is seeking to take advantage by starting the towering Liverpool striker who was overlooked for England's first match in Group D.
