Ajax make winger move

Heerenveen claim Ajax have made a formal approach to sign their highly-rated Moroccan star Oussama Assaidi.

The 23-year-old winger has been strongly tipped to move this summer but looked to be on his way to Turkey, with Galatasaray in prime position to secure his signature.
But the proposed Turkish switch fell through after the player failed to agree personal terms and now it appears Assaidi, who has a contract until summer 2013, could now remain in Holland.
The Morocco international has now been the subject of firm interest from Ajax, although a deal is still some way off as both parties are yet to agree on a transfer fee.
Heerenveen sporting director Johan Hansma told De Telegraaf: "Ajax made an approach some two weeks ago, but we did not agree terms. I don't know whether they'll return for him. Oussama will stay at Heerenveen unless a good offer comes in."
