Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld says he has no intention of leaving the club despite speculation linking him with a move to England.
The 23-year-old's fellow Ajax centre-half Jan Verthonghen is expected to join Tottenham, though the Belgian international isn't planning on joining his team mate in the Premier League, despite him being linked with a move to Newcastle United.
"I will stay at Ajax, no matter what," Alderweireld told AD5. "Don't listen to all the rumours you hear."
Alderweireld, who can also play at right-back, has a further two years left on his contract and Ajax confirmed in March that talks were due to open regarding an extension.
At the time, the player also said it would be 'foolish' to leave Ajax now and he wanted to follow the example of Thomas Vermaelen, who spent several seasons at the Amsterdam ArenA before moving to Arsenal.
