Anita agent confirms Magpies bid
The agent of Ajax's Vurnon Anita says the club have received an offer for the midfielder from Premier League side Newcastle.
Anita, 23, caught the attention of the Toon scouting team some time ago and they have been keeping track of his progress at Ajax which has seen him earn three caps for the Dutch national side.
Now the player's agent, Harry Lulofs, says Ajax have received a bid from Newcastle.
He told NUFCfans.co.uk: "Newcastle have made an offer between £5-10 million. I cannot give you the accurate figure, but Ajax have received a written offer.
"They are very satisfied with the guy and want to keep him. Newcastle have been watching him for a long time and really want to sign him.
"This is the first offer Ajax have received for Vurnon and we'll soon see how they react."
Lulofs added the parties will discuss Anita's future when he returns from holiday after next week and also claimed Norwich to be interested in the Dutchman.
"The only other Premier League club to get in touch was Norwich. Paul Lambert called me to ask about him [Anita]. Now he has moved to Aston Villa, so maybe they will be in touch. I don't know."
