Ajax boss Frank de Boer is resigned to losing defender Jan Vertonghen but is confident Vurnon Anita will remain with the Dutch giants.
Vertonghen claimed on Wednesday that his switch from Ajax to Tottenham had stalled. However, his club manager believes the £9.6million move to the Premier League side will go through.
"We're very close but if the deal isn't done, Jan must start his training next week with us," de Boer said.
"Eventually, I expect the deal will be done. I expect everything will be alright."
Defensive midfielder Anita has been the subject of a bid from Newcastle but de Boer expects the Netherlands international to stay.
"The probability that he stays at Ajax is very large. He is doing well here," he added.
