De Boer hails Ajax resilience

Ajax boss Frank de Boer has hailed his side's performances this season after they clinched the Eredivisie title on Wednesday.

The Amsterdammers had a difficult first half to the campaign due to a string of injuries to key players but kept in touch with early leaders PSV before going on a run of 13 straight victories to win the Eredivisie with a game to spare thanks to a 2-0 victory over VVV Venlo.
De Boer also led his team to the title last season but says this year's success is much sweeter after the all the problems his side have experienced.
"For the fans, last season was special because they waited so long for the third star on the shirt," said De Boer. "But for me and my staff this one feels more beautiful seeing what happened this season."
