McLeish denies Dost snub

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has denied that his club have been snubbed by Hereenveen striker Bas Dost, despite claims by his agent.

The Dutch under-21 striker's agent had claimed earlier in the week, that his client had turned down a move to Villa, due to the fact he didn't see them as a 'big club.' But, although admitting his club are interested in the 28-goal top scorer in the Eredivisie, McLeish was quick to say his club were yet to make a move for the player. "What is the story? That he turned us down?" the Villa boss said when questioned about the story: "Well, we've never approached Heerenveen for Bas Dost, but we know who he is."
