Twente complete Gutierrez swoop

FC Twente have completed the signing of Universidad Catolica midfielder Felipe Gutierrez.

The 21-year-old Chile international joins the Eredivisie outfit for €3million and will be part of Steve McClaren's side for the 2012-13 season. Gutierrez, who has played for his country five times, signs a five-year deal at De Grolsch Veste and the club are delighted with their latest capture. "Negotiations with Universidad took a while, but were always in a friendly atmosphere," Twente president Joop Munsterman said. "We are very pleased that Gutierrez is joining Twente. He is a talented player who has developed into a Chile international." The attacking midfielder made 87 appearances for Universidad Catolica in the Chilean Primera Division since making his debut in 2009, scoring 20 goals in the process.
