Utrecht stand firm over Duplan
Michael Laudrup's transfer plans have suffered a blow after FC Utrecht rejected Swansea City's approach for winger Edouard Duplan.
The Eredivisie outfit recently announced they were expecting an approach from the Premier League club for the Frenchman, who has just one year remaining on his current deal. That offer has now materialised but Swansea did not meet Utrecht's asking price for the 29-year-old. ''Swansea made us a bid. We rated it as too low," the club's general director Wilko van Schaik told RTV Utrecht. "We can use the money but that is not to say we give away our players for bargain fees." Laudrup is searching for new faces as he looks to build on an impressive first season back in the top-flight for the Swans under former boss Brendan Rodgers.
