Van der Wiel keen on Chelsea move

Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel has admitted he would be interested in joining Chelsea following rumours linking him with the club.

The Dutch right-back has been the subject of increased speculation regarding his future at Amsterdam ArenA and is now being touted as a possible signing for Champions League winners Chelsea. Van der Wiel says he is unsure whether the English side, who are currently without a manager, are interested in him but says it would be difficult to turn them down if they came calling. He told Sky Sports News: "I didn't hear anything from my manager, I think it is just rumours and we will see in the future what comes." Asked if he would be tempted with a move to Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old added: "Yes of course I would, it is a beautiful club. "I watch a lot of English football and they won the Champions League and it was a great performance."
