Van Gaal backs Zoet
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal says RKC Waalwijk goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet has the opportunity to become an international regular.
Zoet was added to the senior squad as a replacement for the injured Tim Krul. The 21-year-old makes the step up with rave reviews.
"Zoet is a logical replacement. Cor Pot [Netherlands Under-21 coach] is very pleased with him," said Van Gaal.
"Now he has the chance to become our third-choice goalkeeper."
Meanwhile, Van Gaal, in his second spell as Netherlands boss, expects to come across a defensive-minded Hungary in tonight's World Cup qualifier. The Dutch are searching for back-to-back wins following their home triumph over Turkey last Friday.
"Hungary do not play as offensively as Turkey. They employ two systems, of which the most offensive is 4-4-1-1. Enough said," added the experienced coach.
