Arteta remains hopeful
Everton's Spanish ace Mikel Arteta has not yet given up hope of going to the World Cup with Spain in the summer.
Arteta has consistently been overlooked by the Spanish coach Vincente del Bosque but he may be forced to seek alternatives after injuries to Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta have weakened the Spanish midfield.
Arteta, who many believe to have been extremely unfortunate not to have received full international recognition already, still has hopes of making the plane to South Africa.
He said: "It would be amazing for me if I had the chance to be named in the squad.
"I am working hard, trying to get the attention of the manager. I am always hopeful."
