Baines doubts he deserves award
Everton left back Leighton Baines says he was surprised by being handed a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
Baines got the nod ahead of other luminaries such as Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra and he becomes the first Evertonian to make the side since Neville Southall back in 1990, he doesn't believe he deserves it though. "I didn't really feel like I should be in it to be honest, but I was still delighted to be chosen - especially because it's voted by players which means a lot," he told EvertonTV. "It's nice to be recognised in that category of players like Gael Clichy and Ashley Cole. "I don't think I've been the best left-back in league this season, but if other people think I have then obviously that's great. It's a surprise, there have been players who I feel have done better."
