Baines hails midfield
Everton defender Leighton Baines says the club's current midfield is the best that it has been in his time at Goodison Park.
An already strong midfield was boosted over the summer by Roberto Martinez when he added Gareth Barry, on loan from Manchester City, and James McCarthy, a £13m signing from Wigan, to it.
With Darron Gibson returning at the weekend and Steven Pienaar yet to come back, Baines says Martinez will have some decisions to make when everyone is fit and available to play.
Asked whether it was the strongest Toffees midfield he had played alongside, he told evertontv: "From what I can remember it is, just because of the quality we have and there are a lot of players fighting for places.
"We have Steven (Pienaar) to come back (from injury) so if we have everyone back fit we will have a really good squad and the manager has some decisions to make."
